Layer adhesion: how to get stronger parts
If the part snaps along the print lines, the layers didn’t fuse enough.
What to check
- Raise the temperature 5–10 °C.
- Reduce the fan on PETG, ABS and ASA.
- Lower wall speed by 20%.
- Calibrate flow ratio.
- Orient the part so the load doesn’t act between layers.
Starting values
- PLA: 210–225 °C, fan 100%
- PETG: 235–250 °C, fan 30–50%
- ABS and ASA: 245–265 °C, fan 0–15%, closed chamber
