Overhangs: how to print them clean
Beyond 45–60° from vertical, overhanging walls curl or drop.
What to do
- Fan at maximum on overhangs (PLA 100%, PETG 70–100%).
- Enable “Slow down for overhangs”.
- Lower the temperature 5 °C.
- Rotate or split the part to reduce the angle.
- Use Tree supports only where needed, with the right Z distance.
Common mistakes
- Low fan with PLA
- Layer height too high
- Supports everywhere: waste and ruined surfaces
